77th Independence Day

St. Peter's Convent School celebrated the 77th Independence Day on 14th of August 2023. The students took pride in glorifying and celebrating the spirit of unity and brotherhood.
The day started with great pride and enthusiasm with the prayer song and lamp lighting. Our chief guests for the day; Retired army officer, Mr. Kartar Singh Nagar, Mr. Brijpal Chawady, our honourable mother Annett, respected Principal sister Nancy Elizabeth, inspection team Reverend Sister Anupamaria and sister Cherupushpam; were welcomed by Ms. Dhira Dutta.
We celebrated the day with various programs like group dance, singing, skit and poem recitation. The motto was to make the children aware that the future of their country lies in their hands. Hence, they need to study well and inculcate good values in life, which will further help them be good citizens of the country.
Quiz on Incredible India ( Dekho Apna Desh)
The Quiz was conducted under the Social Science Department. The theme of the Quiz was "Struggle to Incredible India". It was divided into three groups ( on the basis of classes)
Group 1 : classes 1 to 4
Group 2 : classes 5 to 7
Group 3 : classes 8 to 10
The main aim of the quiz was to make children understand about the struggle of freedom fighters and how they sacrificed their lives for India's freedom and how India is successfully moving towards the development phase.
Later, our school organised a prize distribution ceremony where certificates and medals were awarded by the guests of the day to our Peterians who made everyone proud by winning accolades in a number of district and state level competitions.
Our principal Sister Nancy Elizabeth moved everyone’s heart with her deeply enriching and patriotic speech.
Ms. Shraddha Anjali, then, thanked our chief guests for gracing us with their presence on this auspicious occasion. The celebrations were ended by hoisting the National Flag, followed by the National Anthem in the presence of the management, students and staff members.
The students brought the day alive with their passion and love for the motherland, India, through their contribution to the whole event and they pledged themselves to upholding the honor, integrity, diversity and uniqueness that belongs to India.
